2024 USABA Goalball Southeast National Qualifier

TIME:

Competition will begin Friday noon, May 24nd and will continue each day starting at 8:00AM. We will conclude the tournament Sunday early afternoon with the awards ceremony.

Transportation:

Transportation will be provided from the Atlanta airport on Thursday May, 24tb to the hotel and/or the venue with transportation to the airport on Sunday, May 26th from the venue. Transportation daily from the Sonesta Atlanta Northwest to the Community Center and back at the end of the day.


Meals:

Dinner on Friday, lunch and dinner on Saturday will be provided to registered players and coaches. Meals are available to non-registered persons at $50.00 per person.

Format:

3 tournaments with a gold, silver and bronze finish

Full tournament structure and timing

2 ‘A’ level men’s pools of 4 teams A and B

1 Women Pool of 6 teams A

2 ‘B’ level men’s pool of 4 teams C, D

Tournament rules:

IBSA rules will be followed with the following exceptions: Tie breakers the final ranking of teams at the conclusion of a round robin will be determined by the number of points earned. Each team will earn three (3) points for a win, one (1) point for a tie score, and zero (0) points for a loss. If two or more teams have the same number of points at the end of the round robin, the teams will be separated by using the following methods in this order:
  1. Goal differential - subtracting a team’s goals scored against from their goals scored in the total round robin.
  2. Number of wins – teams will be assessed on the number of wins in the round robin. Teams with the most wins will be given the higher ranking.
  3. Goals against– the team with the lowest goals against in the overall competition will be given the higher ranking.
  4. Goal differential – The same procedure shall be used again, but this time only the games in the round robin between the teams that have to be separated shall be included.
